INTRODUCTION

Thank you for visiting my website! Responsible personal information stewardship is one of my core values. The following lists the types of information collected over this website and detail about who collects and uses each type of information:

I collect this information through Squarespace. Squarespace also collects this information for its own purposes. More information about how Squarespace uses this information is provided in the Squarespace Privacy Policy (see Section 12 of that policy). How this Website Uses Cookies and Similar Technologies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or app. I have included a cookie banner on my website that will allow you to prevent the placement of certain types of cookies on your device and browser when those cookies are not necessary for the functioning of this website (such as analytics cookies). For information about the cookies dropped on your device, visit The cookies Squarespace uses.

• These functional and required cookies are always used, to allow Squarespace, my website hosting platform, to serve this website to you.

• These analytics and performance cookies are used on this website. This website uses analytics and performance cookies to view site traffic, activity, and other data.

Sensitive Personal Information

I do not collect sensitive personal information on this website. If you become a client of mine, you may disclose sensitive personal information offline so that I can provide legal services to you. In addition to the statements made in this Privacy Notice, I also am bound by ethical duties of confidentiality to my clients.

Whom I Share Data With

My website is powered by Squarespace, a third-party website hosting provider. Squarespace’s servers are located in the US. Except for the direct collection and use of personal information by Squarespace as set forth above, Squarespace only uses the personal information I provide to Squarespace as my service provider and is subject to a data processing agreement between my law firm (The Virtual Arts Law Center) and Squarespace.

In addition to the above, my website is integrated with social media network platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) whereby information may be shared with me from those platforms. For instance, if you interact with this website through a social media feature such as a plug-in, then you may be granting me or Squarespace ongoing access to certain information from that social media account. If you do not want a social media platform to collect or share information about you, please review the privacy policy and privacy settings of the applicable social media property before using features like a LinkedIn button on this Website.

Please see the section of this Privacy Notice on cookies, above, for more information about the use of cookies on this website. Note that my website does not respond to Do-Not-Track requests or to Global Privacy Control.

This means that, unless there are ethical or legal reasons for which I need to keep personal information, or unless there are reasons for which is it not feasible for me to delete your data, I will delete your personal information. The personal information Squarespace collects by hosting my website is retained by Squarespace as provided in the Squarespace Privacy Policy. You will need to ask Squarespace directly if you want Squarespace to delete the data it collects from my website and uses for its own purposes.

This website is not directed to children or intended for use by children. I do not knowingly collect the personal information of individuals under the age of 18 years old.

Data Security and Data Breach

I care about the integrity and security of personal information and implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to safeguard personal information from unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, change, disclosure, acquisition, or access.

Data Retention

I keep personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which personal information is processed, as required by law, when deletion is infeasible, or for me to meet my ethical obligations as an attorney. As my law firm grows and changes, how I process personal information may evolve. I will update this Privacy Notice from time to time to change practices. When I make changes, I will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Notice and will post it on my website. I will notify you of any material changes to how I process personal information by prominently posting a notice of material changes on my website before they take effect or by directly sending you a notification.
